Yana Martens has been modelling for over 13 years and is experienced in a broad range of styles. Besides her experience on both sides of the camera Yana’s psychology degree gives her insights on people’s behaviour in front of the camera and what is most effective when helping people to overcome their insecurities.
“My intention with my business is to understand relationships between photography and psychology, and particularly finding correlations between confidence, attractiveness, self-acceptance and perception by others. Hence, I enjoy sharing my modelling experience together with psychology knowledge to help people feel good about themselves in front of the camera. The attractiveness starts not from makeup filter or slimming down tool in photoshop, it starts with the relationships with yourself.”
Yana first started running classes for aspiring models, then many photographers became interested in learning how to pose people more effectively. Eventually, the “Posing Model” concept developed into a series of “Posing People” workshops. Posing People is not only about psychical movements of the subject, it’s about communication and most importantly building Photo confidence. Yana’s Photo Confidence workshops designed to people on the fundamentals of how to take a flattering photo and give them the tools to walk away ready to get in front of the camera, whether with a professional photographer or just a friend with a phone.
